DEAC J. JONES
President/CEO

Previous to founding HATTRAS, Inc., Mr. Jones was a partner at Auerbach & Jones - a marketing firm that worked with companies to successfully launch new products and expand operations in the US and abroad.

Mr. Jones worked over eight years in Asia responsible for product development and execution of strategic marketing plans for many Fortune 500 companies. Among these companies were Proctor & Gamble, 3M, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Kraft General Foods, Unilever, Eastman Chemical, and Rohm & Haas. He is an expert at determining effective business applications for companies operating in foreign markets, while avoiding unwarranted capital expenditures.

Prior to working with Auerbach & Jones, Mr. Jones was Indochina Regional Manager for Connell Bros. Company, a privately held marketing, distribution, and trading firm. During his five-year tenure with Connell Bros., he pioneered organizations in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Southern China, creating one of Connell’s most successful organizations in three short years. Before Connell, he worked for The Harper Group, a worldwide logistics management company as Director responsible for administering $80 million of corporate assets. Later as Managing Director of Harper's Thailand office, Mr. Jones managed logistical operations for over $200 million of imported equipment to Cambodia to support the 1991 United Nations mission. Mr. Jones began his professional career in Boise, Idaho for Morrison-Knudsen Company creating corporate-wide productivity improvement programs.

Mr. Jones has been a featured speaker at several seminars and universities discussing the complexities of establishing successful business operations in emerging markets. He has been interviewed and featured on ABC Nightly News with Peter Jennings and interviewed and quoted in many publications including the Wall Street Journal, Time, Far East Economic Review, The Economist Intelligence Unit, The South China Post and International Herald Tribune. He received his MBA in 1987 from the University of San Francisco graduating Magna cum Laude and Beta Gamma Sigma, and Bachelor of Science Degree from Colorado State University in 1981. He also attended an International Business Program in Geneva, Switzerland, sponsored by Kent State University. He has been a Vice-Chairman of the Board of Governors for the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam and Trade Committee Chairman for the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand.


JOHN KALB
Vice President Research

John Kalb has over 20 years of management, operational, and technical experience helping clients develop business opportunities from emerging technology trends in multimedia, software publishing, data storage, and the Internet. He assisted Warner New Media, Creative Labs, and Compaq Computers in establishing software publishing operations.

Mr. Kalb has also worked with Arrow Electronics, Omron, SRI, Rainmaker, and Magnify to evaluate business assets, identify emerging opportunities, and extend core competencies to new markets.

In the 1980s, Mr. Kalb was instrumental in the emergence of the CD-ROM as a multimedia platform, demonstrating the first interactive CD-ROM formats for SONY, Microsoft, and Intel. He completed more than 50 interactive projects for clients such as Disney, the National Geographic Society, IBM, and the Smithsonian Institution. As Vice President of Publishing for ICOM Simulations, Mr. Kalb was responsible for over 20 software products and brought some of the earliest mass-selling multimedia to market. Previously, Mr. Kalb was an investment banker with Dakin Securities, leading the entertainment, media, and software industry practices.

Mr. Kalb's current practice areas include Customer Relationship Management (CRM), content delivery networks, storage service networks, knowledge management, personalization, and data mining. He attended San Francisco State University.


RICHARD MABBOTT
Managing Director, HATTRAS Europe

Richard brings to HATTRAS a wealth of experience across all aspects of the marketing mix.

He began his career with a London based marketing consultancy between 1996-1998 where much of his work focused on competitive monitoring/intelligence and strategic market analysis for clients across the IT and telecoms sectors.

Following this, Richard joined Ford Motor Company where he played a key role in developing the marketing strategies and plans required to deliver the launch and subsequent business plan objectives of the newly formed Viston division in the EMEA region.

Richard has managed strategic, planning and primary research (end-user, channel and competitor) projects for a variety of clients including Dell, Siemens and Hitachi. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Mathematics from the University of Manchester and various professional marketing qualifications.


J. MICHAEL BRADLEY
Project Director

Prior to joining HATTRAS, Mike worked for VISA International in Vendor Management responsible for Unix Systems, Enterprise Software, Enterprise Storage, Support / Maintenance Contracts. He collaborated with storage engineers/architects to define platform/vendor strategies, specific project requirements, expense plans, maintenance support requirements, and capital budgets. Mike was involved in drafting and soliciting RFPs for Global Storage requirements ($15M).

Mike’s group was responsible for evaluation multiple proposals from EMC, IBM, HDS, and Compaq for both SAN and stand-alone solutions (3830s, 7700Es, Sharks, etc.) in order to recommend the selection of solution providers to senior management. He was accountable for the $4.5M in maintenance support contracts with EMC that included software licenses for Timefinder, PowerPath, etc.

As Software Manager / Lead Negotiator he constantly worked in partnership with Systems Architects, Network Architects, Business Units to define specific licensing needs and technology strategies: conduct inventory/usage analysis, review project requirements, plan growth assumptions, and evaluate fiscal impacts. Review all support, consulting fees, professional services, and other addendum.

He received his MBA in 1996 from the University of San Francisco graduating Cum Laude and a Bachelor of Political Science graduating Cum Laude from University of California, San Diego. He was a Presenter at the Korea International Trade Association, Suwon City, KOREA to 100+ Korean executives from local Internet, Software, and other Hi-Tech industries.


MICHAEL POIROT
Project Manager

Mike brings a tremendous amount of end-user expertise. Prior to joining HATTRAS, Mike was Executive Director of Marketing and Strategic Development at AOL’s Web Properties Division. In this capacity he had responsibilities for the market expansion of brands such as MapQuest, MovieFone and Netscape. Prior to AOL, Mike was Vice President of Marketing with ICS Food One, an online marketplace to the food industry, linking food manufacturers with distributors and retail stores. Mike also spent several years at Ford Motor Company where he was recruited to provide key new marketing perspective as Director of Marketing and Consumer Research for the $18B automotive components division that was subsequently taken public as Visteon Corporation.

Prior to Visteon, Mike was fourteen years with MCI Communications, where he held a number of senior strategic marketing positions. His last seven years with MCI were with the company’s Business Markets Division where he introduced numerous new products and brands. Mr. Poirot holds an MBA in Marketing and a BS in Accounting, both from the University of Denver. He also is a non-practicing CPA, beginning his career with Peat, Marwick and Co, CPAs.


KEVIN RICHARDSON
Project Manager

Kevin Richardson has more than a decade of experience in high-tech strategy and online marketing, with software and telecom expertise. Most recently, Mr. Richardson directed online and product marketing for Paramark. Prior to that, he built the enterprise business unit at fusionOne - working with telecommunications customers such as Sprint, Telefonica Movies, and LG Telecom - and helped to launch the company's first software product.

Previously, Mr. Richardson worked in product marketing at Vignette. He started his career in customer service at Apple Computer and has a strong belief in listening to the customer as you build and market products.

Mr. Richardson holds MBA, MA, and BA degrees from Stanford University.
